Leslie Wexner, Chairman, New Albany Company

Leslie Wexner is the Founder and former Chairman/CEO of L Brands. Starting in 1963 with one store and first year sales of $160,000, Mr. Wexner grew the retail company into a multi-billion-dollar global leader in fashion, lingerie, fragrance and beauty.

For the last 35 years, Mr. Wexner has also been Chairman of The New Albany Company, a real estate development company known for its thoughtful world class efforts, including The New Albany Community, named “America’s Best Suburb,” Easton Town Center and the 10,000-acre New Albany Business Park, which has already attracted several billion dollars in private investment and over 20,000 employees. Investment and employment are now growing exponentially as the Business Park prepares to welcome Intel, and other world class“smart” businesses to the most significant economic development project in history.

Mr. Wexner has a profound interest in the development of tomorrow’s leaders, through the works of Harvard University’s Center for Public Leadership, The Wexner Foundation, and The Ohio State University. His areas of community interest include The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, The Columbus Partnership, Wexner Center for the Arts at The Ohio State University, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus, and The National Veterans Memorial and Museum, Columbus.

Mr. Wexner is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Chairman of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Board, and Chairman Emeritus of the Columbus Partnership. He is also a founding member and the first chair of The Ohio State University Foundation.

Bill Ebbing, Partner, President & CEO, The New Albany Company

As President and CEO of The New Albany Company, Bill Ebbing oversees the development company’s holdings. The New Albany Company was founded 35 years ago by retail visionary Leslie Wexner. In collaboration with civic leadership, The New Albany Company has spearheaded the development of thousands of acres in the northeast quadrant of Franklin County and western Licking County, including an upscale country club community, a premier 18,000-acre business park with billions of dollars in private investment, a town center with retail, office and civic uses, and additional mixed-use central Ohio projects.

New Albany has received national recognition for its innovative planning philosophies that have helped reshape the manner in which development is approached, serving as a model for strategic planning and development worldwide.

Mr. Ebbing has been instrumental in the public/private partnership that has become such an important factor in the success of the community, working closely with business and city leaders to achieve end results that are consistently mutually satisfying.

Alex Fischer, Partner, The New Albany Company

Alex Fischer is the former President and CEO of the Columbus Partnership, a civic leadership organization formed in 2002, comprised of Columbus, Ohio’s top business leaders, with the aim of improving the economic and cultural base of central Ohio.

The partnership has been enormously successful and central Ohio’s growth has been exponential.

Prior to joining the Columbus Partnership, Fischer was Senior Vice President for Business and Economic Development for Battelle headquartered in Columbus, Ohio,and served on the company’s Executive Committee and as a corporate officer. In this role, he served as one of the primary interfaces with Battelle’s venture capital investments. Fischer also oversaw the office of Public Affairs and Government Relations, Battelle’s Economic Development programs, as well as Business Development activities. In this post, he spearheaded Battelle’s successful bid for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as well as the UK’s new National Nuclear Laboratory.

Throughout his career, Fischer has been committed to economic development, education reform, and civic causes. Fischer has been active on numerous for-profit Boards and community organizations including serving as the past Chairman of Velocys, OmniViz and the SunTrust Bank of East Tennessee Board of Directors. He is currently Chairman of Columbus Downtown Development Corporation and Capitol South Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation and Chairman of the Advisory Board for White Oak Partners, LLC, a national multi-family housing company. Fischer is also a Trustee of The Ohio State University and on the boards of Advanced Drainage Systems, Andelyn Biosciences, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Bruce Brickman, Partner, The New Albany Company

Mr. Brickman is Founder and President of Brickman. He has led the firm since founding it in 1993 and has more than 30 years of experience across the real estate spectrum.

His experiences include a broad array of real estate investment disciplines, including development, acquisition, leasing, property management, and investment management.

Mr. Brickman has raised over 1.6B of equity for Brickman through its various Funds and Joint Ventures. Mr Brickman has served on the Boards of Turbochef Technologies and Common Ground/US, and is Chairman of Summer on the Hill. He is a Trustee Emeritus at Horace Mann School.
