The New Albany Community Foundation

The drive to continually deliver the broadest possible array of community facilities, initiatives and events resulted in the creation of The New Albany Community Foundation which brings together groups in a spirit of cooperation to make the best use of the community’s resources.  Public-private partnerships spearheaded by the foundation have led to the opening of both the New Albany branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library and the Jeanne B. McCoy Community Center for the Arts, as well as the development of a Safety Town program for preschoolers and the Philip Heit Center for Healthy New Albany.

The Foundation also presents The Jefferson Series, a top-tier lecture series that features some of the most compelling thought leaders of our time to both student and adult audiences.  Speakers have included leaders in business, global affairs, politics, mental health, history and more.  Fareed Zakaria, General David Petraeus, John Glenn, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Jon Meacham, Patrick Kennedy, Mariel Hemingway, David McCullough, Peggy Noonan and many others have all appeared before sold out audiences during The Jefferson Series’ audiences.

Additionally, each year since 2002, Abigail and Leslie Wexner host Remarkable Evening at their residence. The event is an annual benefit for the New Albany Community Foundation and has featured past Presidents of the United States, renowned authors, historians and artists, including Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winners to the Remarkable Evening lecture series.
