City planners were careful to preserve the pastoral appeal of New Albany with a concerted effort to maintain more than 600 acres of parkland and 900 acres of green space. In fact, most homes in the City are within 1,200 feet of a neighborhood park. And, nearly 35 miles of leisure trails connect neighborhoods to the town center, school campus, country club, library, arts center and business park.
The New Albany Country Club’s 27-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, was developed as a natural park running through the community. Unlike many other golf course communities, the New Albany Country Club course is not surrounded exclusively by homes but lined instead with walking paths so that all residents can enjoy the vistas.
