New Albany plays host to dozens of community events each year, ranging from a weekly summer farmer’s market to a world-class equestrian competition to lecture series, concerts, festivals and parades that bring the community together and set it apart from the rest.
The annual New Albany Classic Invitational Grand Prix and Family Day, which attracts equestrians from around the world, raises more than $1 million each year for the Center for Family Safety and Healing founded by Abigail Wexner. Hosted on the Wexner’s estate, it draws thousands of visitors each year.
The New Albany Walking Classic, which began with a group of walking enthusiasts in 2004, now draws participants from across the country and was voted America’s best walking event by Walking Magazine readers. The non-judged, competitive race with a course that runs through the picturesque City has grown to be the largest walking-only race in the United States.
Residents and visitors alike also enjoy the annual 4th of July parade, concert and fireworks; Founders Day Celebration; Taste of New Albany; and Oktoberfest. Sponsored by the City of New Albany, these events bring family and friends together to celebrate small town life.
